What Are You Doing New Years Eve?

ANA Interiors New Year's Eve

It’s no secret that I love to celebrate. I especially love New Years Eve. It’s a time to start fresh in every way. Why not go the extra mile and add a little bling to ringing in 2016?

Pinterest is teeming with great ideas and inspiration. I’ve always enjoyed using a range of metallics, glitter, tinsel, and you can’t forget the sparklers – like I used on my midnight Pavlova last year!
Take a peek at these ideas incorporating the humble balloon, gold foil paper, twinkle lights, paper stars and bow tie napkins. You don’t need to go all out, but one or two special touches will surely make it a memorable night.

With gold being such a dominant scheme in home decor, you can’t go wrong with this hue. Paired with black and white, it’s a timeless and sophisticated palette signifying prosperity and a bright future ahead.

How fun would a Great Gatsby themed New Years get together be? If you can’t make it to Fort Calgary’s Speakeasy Affair this year, why not host your own?

And if you’re not a lover of Champagne, pick up some Cristalino sparkling wine. It looks the same and trust me, tastes divine.

Celebrating New Years at home is easy, all you need are a few good friends, some tasty food, games or a night of movies, et voila. Some of my best New Years memories have been sitting around a table with my relatives after a beautiful home cooked meal, playing Sette e Mezzo (an Italian card game) gambling with nickels and dimes, screaming and laughing like we were high rollers in Vegas. It is truly the simplest pleasures that we cherish most.

Happy 2016, peace, love and abundance to all.
