These pictures are from the Hermes “Petit h” project. It was initiated by Pascale Mussard, the 6-generation descendant of Thierry Hermès, the founder of the brand. The idea behind the project is based on the wabi-sabi Japanese concept, which sees the imperfection of something as its beauty. The idea is to take so called ‘old’ or worn out pieces and create something totally new and fresh.
Upcycling is a great way to expand creativity and I am so lucky to have been part of the Calgary Home and Garden Show’s Ultimate Upcycle Challenge.
I chose some old kitchen cabinets from Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta Restore. Then went work giving them new life as hand painted planters.
