St. Maarten/Saint Martin

Saint Martin is part of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea. It comprises 2 separate countries, divided between its northern French side, called Saint-Martin, and it’s southern Dutch side, Sint Maarten. The island is home to busy resort beaches and secluded coves. It’s also known for fusion cuisine, vibrant nightlife and duty-free shops selling jewellery and liquor.

As a world traveller, award-winning aesthete & decorator, health & wellness advocate (and bonafide “beach person”), Ana’s love for St. Maarten transpired much as it did the same way for all people who have ever decided to make it their permanent vacation destination. There’s not only a natural pull to experience: the constant trade wind temps; most vivid aquamarine waters surrounding the 30 stunning beaches; the friendliest people you’ll ever meet; the inspiring landscape & rich history of the island; the vibrancy of cuisine & cultural life – there’s also a much deeper reason why people seek out the restorative benefits of sea & surf.
Environmental psychologists coin it “blue spaces” and they are scientifically proven to reduce stress-related health problems. For centuries, people living in dense communities would often make their way to water-lined escapes. Notwithstanding these benefits to our health, one of Ana’s most favourite interior decorating styles also evoke these same serene, luxurious and peaceful feelings most often associated with being oceanside. Re-creating these personal oases for clients has proven successful for many of her projects both here in Canada and in St. Maarten.
Broadview Homes’ “Beach Retreat” styled show home in the estate community of Harmony, in Springbank, Calgary, was their top-selling home and during that same time were recognized as “Builder of the Year”. Brad Remington Homes’ multi-family “Beach Modern” unit in Copperfield, Calgary was the most favourite space from both visitors and staff alike and helped launched the next four-building phase in Legacy, Calgary.
In 2019, Ana was awarded “Best Luxury Outdoor Living Design”, by Build Magazine, for her work in St. Maarten, which has lead to subsequent design work in Europe. What is especially rewarding is that the Caribbean project was going on when Hurricane Irma hit, and so she has made a heart-felt commitment to help islanders and vacationers get their homes, villas and retreats restored to a place they can love again.
Ana’s expert touch in your home or vacation property will guarantee an elevated level of personal satisfaction in addition to increasing the value of your real estate.
